Annette Elya is our chief designer at GazingGlass.com. For years she has loved crafts and gardening. One day, awhile back, Annette was cleaning up around the house. There she found old, no longer needed pieces of glass that she had accumulated over the years. Being green minded, and instead of throwing them out into the trash, Annette figured that there must be something better she could do with the glass?

For kicks, she began stacking the glass. She soon found a passion for a new craft. After asking David Elya her husband for assistance, she was able to engineer a high quality art creation which could be mounted outdoor on a pole. With that, she tested them in her own garden.

Soon her neighbors were asking her to make one for them. The neighbors friends loved them and wanted one too! Shortly thereafter, she entered a local craft show.

Boom! A business was born! She had overwhelming success at a series of shows in 2008.

In 2009, Annette continued to expand the business to new areas around Michigan. Watch for upcoming shows in 2010.
